Police believe the man was assaulted and enquiries so far have revealed that a man with a dark jacket was seen running away from the location into a lane, adjacent to 231 Wallacewell Road.

CCTV images have shown that there were members of the public in the area, in particular one man was out walking his dog around that time.

Officers are appealing to him and to anyone else who was in the area to get in touch. Police are continuing to carry out door-to-door enquiries.

Detective Constable Peter Chatham said: “At this time, we don’t know exactly what happened to the victim. We know that members of the public tried to help him and contacted emergency services.
