Police search for missing Grace

POLICE are appealing for help from the public to trace a missing woman.

Grace Fernie (62) was last seen at 9am on Wednesday, July 11 at her home in Newton Mearns’ Rannoch Avenue.

Grace is described as around 5ft 8ins in height, of heavy build with collar-length ginger/strawberry blonde hair and wears rimless glasses.

Police have described Grace as vulnerable.

On the day she went missing, Grace was wearing a sweatshirt and jogging bottoms.

Police believe she has changed her clothes since, as she was seen on CCTV in Market Street, St Andrews in Fife wearing a black cardigan, black trousers, a ‘scoop’ neck style white top with a flowery-pattern and grey, casual shoes.

She was carrying a black shoulder bag.

Grace has access to a black, Vauxhall Corsa with registration SA56 EJD.

Inspector Campbell Crawford of Giffnock Police said: “Mrs Fernie’s family are understandably becoming very concerned for her safety, as her disappearance is extremely out of character.

“We have been liaising closely with Fife Constabulary to try and locate Mrs Fernie as the last confirmed sighting of her was in St Andrews.

“I would urge anyone with information on Mrs Fernie’s current location to get in touch with poice immediately”.
