Police trying to trace missing Bishopbriggs teenager

Officers from Police Scotland are appealing for the assistance of the public in an effort to trace a 16-year-old girl, missing from Bishopbriggs.

Shannon Robertson (16) was last seen at her home in Norfolk Crescent, Bishopbriggs around 10pm on Sunday, January 12.

She is described as around 5ft8in in height, medium build, long, wavy auburn coloured hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing black leggings and a black jacket.

Extensive enquiries are currently underway with officers checking with family and friends. Officers are also reviewing CCTV images in the hope that it will provide information as to her whereabouts.

Inspector Craig Rowan, from Kirkintilloch Police, said: “It’s out of character for Shannon to be out of contact with everyone and we are growing increasingly concerned for her and would like to know she is safe and well.

“She has been known to visit Maryhill, Larkhall and Wishaw areas and checks are underway in those areas. If anyone has any information about Shannon or information about her whereabouts, please do contact us.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact officers at Kirkintilloch Police Office on the non emergency police number, 101.
