Politicians fury at Scotgen meeting 'snub'

MSPs and local campaigners have reacted angrily after the company at the centre of the proposed waste treatment facility, near Blackwood, pulled out of yet another meeting.

Scotgen representatives were set to meet with local MSPs, including Clydesdale's Karen Gillon and list MSPs Jim Hume and Aileen Campbell in Edinburgh last Wednesday.

Members of the Dovesdale Incinerator Action Group and NFU Scotland were also to be in attendance for the meeting at Holyrood.

However, with less than a week to go before the summit Scotgen pulled out of the meeting.

That decision has infuriated both the MSPs and the action group.

However, a Scotgen spokesman said: "The MSPs wanted to hear more about the application itself and we stated that anything relating to the

planning process should be taken up with the planning authorities."
