Politicians hit the pitch in support of Gordon
Eastwood MSP Ken Macintosh and East Ren MP Jim Murphy swapped parliament for the pitch this week to raise awareness of Motor Neurone Disease.
The pair took part in a charity football kickabout with Gordon Aikman, a campaigner who has MND. Ken told The Extra: “MND is one of the most devastating conditions imaginable, but Gordon has made his misfortune inspirational. He has generated huge support for his campaign to improve research, funding, nursing care and support.
“The shootout was supposedly Labour vs Tories but Jim and I were pleased we were all on the side of Gordon Aikman.”
