The council says the normal weekly collection for brown bins cannot resume yet as the neighbourhood service staff team, who cover refuse collection, recycling centres, street cleaning, parks and cemeteries, remain 25 per cent down due to the pandemic and national guidelines on shielding.

The measures for brown bin collections have also been put in place to reduce the volume taken to the garden and food waste site during one week, keeping it below the weekly maximum.

Green, blue and grey bins are now back on the normal three week collection cycle, so for July, as well as the brown bin collections explained above, it will be:

• w/c Monday 6 July - green (plastic, cans and bottles) bin collections on your normal collection day
