MacDonald takes Glasgow South

SNP challenger Stewart McDonald is the new MP for Glasgow South after he ousted Labour’s Tom Harris.

Winning with 55% of the vote (26,773) he was an early victor of the ‘tsunami’ that has swept over Scottish politics.

The result was part of an electoral landslide that has wiped out Labour representation in Scotland, including every seat in the Glasgow city area.
