Ms Sturgeon is currently travelling around the country addressing public meetings to put forth the case for Scottish independence, in the light of next month’s vote. She will be attending such an event at Kilsyth Academy next week, starting 7pm.

Constituency MSP Jamie Hepburn, who will chair this event, said: “Those of us who are campaigning for a yes vote have increasingly found that more and more people are supporting independence as the means to a fairer society here in Scotland, and one where we always get the government of our choosing, rather than having unelected Tory governments foisted upon us.

“However, it is of course the case that many people still have questions about what independence means for them, their family and for the future of the country. I am delighted that Nicola Sturgeon is coming.”
