Position open on Children’s Panel

The voluntary role of depute area convener is open for applications, and the successful candidate will join the area convener in leading a team of 25 panel members.

The Children’s Hearing system is Scotland’s care and justice system for young people in need of care, protesction and support.

Volunteers are asked to commit to between two and six days per month, and will be reimbursed for reasonable travel and out-of-pocket expenses.

The depute’s responsibilities include chairing local meetings and providing support for the team.

Applicants are asked to demonstrate a commitment to and understanding of the hearings system and should have excellent organisational and communication skills; the ability to foster good working relationships; impartiality; problem-solving and experience of working with both paid staff and volunteers.
