£385,000 needed for Biggar museum project

The DIFFICULT we can do today; the impossible will take a fortnight – so Museums Trust chairman James Dawnay summed up when he asked the Biggar people to come up with £385,000 to kick off the new museum project in just four months.

C That would buy the Stephens Garage site on the High Street, and allow the Trustees to seek a further £1.5 million from trusts and in grants for refurbishing the complex and fitting it out.

“It is now or never for the site,” said James. “The only people we can turn to is you. It is people living in Biggar, people living outside Biggar.”
