Pubs scrap outdoor drinking plans

A CONTROVERSIAL planning application in Cumbernauld Village has been scrapped after a number of objections were made against it.

The owner of the Black Bull and Circle pubs on the Village Main Street had submitted an application to create two outdoor drinking areas at the front of the establishments.

However, the application attracted attention after a local MSP spoke of his constituents’ concern over the move and a number of objections were made on the council’s planning website.
