Queen’s honour for southside boys

A total of 92 youths from The Boys’ Brigade in Glasgow — including nine from the southside — stepped up to be presented with Queen’s Badge certificates recently.

Stuart Armstrong (79th Glasgow BB Company), Alex Greer (86th), Peter Gallacher (254th), Jordan Black (128th), Ewan McLachlan (145th), Alistair Campbell (205th), Conor Bisset (223rd), Stuart Nelson (231st) and Ross Brennan (278th) all received awards at a ceremony held at Glasgow city chambers.

The Queen’s Bage is the highest award attainable, and Jim McVean, of the Boys’ Brigade Glasgow battalion, said: “Through two years of working towards the award, these young men have made a tremendous positive impact on their communities.”

The recipients were welcomed by baillie Dr Nina Baker, while Glasgow battalion chaplain reverend Neil Galbraith led the devotions.
