Dunbartonshire Chamber of Commerce is holding a business hustings meeting in the run-up to polling day on May 7.

The hustings meeting will take place on Thursday, April 23.

It will run from noon-2pm, in McGregor House auditorium, at Southbank Business Park, in Kirkintilloch.

Chamber of Commerce member and local businessman Robert Wilson will chair the event and says it will be an ideal opportunity to put key questions to the candidates standing in the East Dunbartonshire constituency.

Robert said: “Although this hustings meeting is primarily for businesses anyone can come along on the day.

“And representatives from the various charities would also be more than welcome.”

The hustings meeting will be held along the same lines as the ‘Question Time’ programme on TV.

Each candidate will get a short time to put their position across and then it will be open to questions from those attending the event.

Robert added: “We are looking for a good turnout. People can just drop in over their lunch break - even if it’s just for a short time - and leave if they have to get back to work.”

Herald readers can e-mail their questions to us at [email protected] and put ‘hustings question’ in the subject line. We will pass the questions on to Mr Wilson ahead of the hustings.
