A TRAGIC incident occurred in Abronhill this morning after a train driver reported a body hanging from the bridge on Broom Road.

It is believed that the person, reported to be a 25-year-old woman from Abronhill, was struck by the train. However police reports have not confirmed this.

A British Transport Police spokesperson said: “BTP officers were called to the line close Broom Road on Tuesday, April 19 after the driver of the 4.am Mossend to Inverness freight service reported a body hanging from a bridge.
