Readers asked to help find man’s ‘guardian angel’

A young man was saved from taking his own life by a stranger on a train station platform in the winter of 2014.

Since then, he has turned his life around after years of depression.

He is now helping others via a social media page.

The 17-year-old, who has asked to remain anonymous, is appealing to Extra readers for help in finding his unknown ‘guardian angel’.

The young man was plagued with depression for years before succumbing to thoughts of suicide.

He told The Extra: “It was November 21, 2014, and I decided that I was going to take my own life.

“I decided to do it at my local train station, Whitecraigs.

“I even got to the point where I jumped from the ledge and it was at that point that I was grabbed by a man — who, I don’t know — and he saved my life.

“His help changed my life and it prompted the start of my recovery from depression that I had suffered from for four years.

“I now spend a lot of my time helping others from a recovery account on Instagram.”

The young man has asked Extra readers for help in finding the man who saved his life.
