Receptions are not nosey at Lanark surgery

ALLEGATIONS that patients at Lanark’s main doctors’ surgery are subjected to an embarrassing public `grilling’ by receptionists before being allowed to see a GP have been strongly rebuffed.

It has also emerged that few – if any – patients even know of the existance of the local quango where they can make their complaints and views known on the area’s NHS services.

The criticisms of the Woodstock Medical Centre cropped up when Gillian Ventura of the Scottish Health Council came to Lanark to tell Community Council members of her organisation’s work, stresssing that it was NOT there to hear complaints about medical services, only to ensure that Lanarkshire Health Board listened to patients’ views.
