Red Kite bird found severely injured in Leadhills

A RED Kite bird was found severely injured in the village of Leadhills and the Scottish SPCA is appealing for information about who may have been responsible.

The juvenile female Red Kite, known as the UK’s most beautiful bird of prey, was discovered by a member of the public who alerted the SSPCA.

Sadly the bird was suffering so much that reluctantly it was decided that the most humane option was to put her to sleep. Post mortem results showed that the bird had been shot, causing severe injury.
