Register call for August school intake

A week-long registration period will run at local schools January 13-17, between 1.30 and 3.30pm.

Parents are asked to bring along the child’s birth certificate, a council tax notice, utility bill and mortgage or rental agreement, plus a child benefit statement.

Children must be registered at their catchment primary — even if parents intend to make a placing request, defer for a year, educate them privately or teach them at home .

To request a place at another school in the area, parents must contact the council before January 31.

Applications for nursery school — for children aged three or four between March 1 of this year and Feburary 28, 2015 — are also being accepted until February 28.
