Residents can help to framethe area’s leisure and culture

Local organisations and individuals can help to shape the future of culture, leisure and sport in East Dunbartonshire.

That’s the opportunity on offer from the council and the Leisure and Culture Trust, as part of the bid to boost good health, wellbeing, learning and social inclusion in the area.

The draft strategy for culture, leisure and sport is now available to view at council libraries and online at www.eastdunbarton.gov.uk/draftCLSS/

Residents can have their say via an online survey, and at a drop-in session being held at Kirkintilloch’s William Patrick Library, from 3pm to 8pm on Thursday, October 22.

The council’s development and regeneration convener, Councillor Alan Moir, said: “I hope as many people as possible seize the opportunity to help shape leisure, culture and sport provision in East Dunbartonshire.

“I would urge everyone to get involved and help us to ensure that our facilities and services are the very best that they can be.

“The council works closely with the Trust to provide a wide variety of sporting, leisure and cultural opportunities in East Dunbartonshire.

“We’re committed to ensuring the good work continues.”

Scott Hill, chairman of East Dunbartonshire Leisure and Culture Trust, said: “I would encourage as many people and groups as possible to access the strategy and let us know their views.”
