Restaurants put on the map to celebrate Lanarkshire's larder

The Glasshouse Restaurant and Bar at The Alona Hotel in Strathclyde Park and The Wide Mouth Frog Restaurant at Dalziel Park Hotel and Golf Club have been included on a new map celebrating Lanarkshire's foodie hotspots.

The Lanarkshire Larder Food Map paints a vivid picture of the varied food scene across the county, which is diverse as the food it produces, from farm shops and markets, to contemporary cafes and hotel restaurants.

The new free map has been developed by leading food and entertainment guide The List working with North and South Lanarkshire Councils and in partnership with Scotland Food and Drink.

Donald Reid, food and drink editor at The List, said: “A project such as the Lanarkshire Larder Food Map quite literally does the job of putting local food and drink on the map.

“With their first glance at the map readers often express their surprise that there’s so much out there.

“Small-scale food and drink is a thriving part of Scottish life and business, and with this map Lanarkshire is proving itself to be fully part of that process.”
