Reunion to celebrate half a century since their school days

Next year will be the 50th anniversary for former Milngavie Primary pupils and a group of them are trying to organise a reunion.

Many former pupils are still local but some have moved away and the organisers of this event are appealing for their contact details.

They’d also like old photos from school trips and tales of the Uganda cruise arriving in Lisbon during a military coup in 1974!

One of the reunion organisers, Ian said: “We were a tough generation surviving the great winter of 1963 not to mention growing up with no social media or smart phones, hard times indeed.

“In 2017, an unimaginable date back then, it will be 50 years since those ‘Clarks’ shoes ran into the playground for the first time.”

The reunion next spring/summer will include a school exam ( pub quiz ) and disco plus a sports day at Lennox park.
