Richard Calveley takes on rafting challenge with Ally McCoist

BIGGAR businessman Richard Calveley is heading to Idaho for a white water rafting challenge - alongside his footballing hero Ally McCoist.

Rangers-daft Richard (30) will be tackling the Idaho White Water Rafting Challenge, in aid of the Ibrox club’s Charity Foundation in May.

Speaking to the Gazette, Richard, who owns his own offshore steel company - Skotia Metals - revealed the chance to spend eight days in the company of ‘Super Ally’ was too good to turn down.

He said: “I recently went to the Charity Foundation’s Race Night and spoke to Connal Cochrane, the charity’s fundraising manager, and he mentioned the Idaho Challenge was coming up.

“I wasn’t too sure about it but then Connal told me that Ally was going and my mind was instantly made up.”

The Challenge will see nine Rangers fans, along with Ally, tackle the Middle Salmon Rapids over a five day period.

The money raised by the trip goes to helping ABF The Soldiers’ Charity, which is the Foundation’s adopted charity for this season.
