Rosh Hashanah for East Renfrewshire

It was a happy new year all round as Rabbi Chaim Jacobs, director of Lubavitch Scotland, presented a gift to East Renfrewshire provost Alastair Carmichael for Rosh Hashanah.

The Rabbi marked the Jewish new year by blessing the provost and the citizens of East Ren, wishing them a year of happiness, peace and good health.

The gift basket presented included an apple, honey, pomegranate and a bottle of Kosher wine, all traditional gifts symbolising a sweet new year.

Rabbi Jacobs and provost Carmichael are pictured in front a framed tapestry presented to ERC on Jewish Care Scotland’s 150th anniversary.
