Runners pound the streets in Cumbernauld’s 10k
Weeks of training came to fruition for a total of 458 runners who took part in the annual event.
Junior runners also braved the elements to take part in a 3K run and 1K run before the main race kicked off at 11am.

Hide AdBefore the 10K started at 11am, runners were offered a moment of calm as a minute silence was held to mark the tenth anniversary of the 9/11 attacks.
Among the 10k runners was the News and Chronicle’s own Martin Dalziel, who was fund-raising for Yorkhill Children’s Hospital.
