Safer cycling for East Ren and beyond

A new £390,000 cycle link has opened in Barrhead, allowing bikers and pedestrians access into Renfrewshire and national cycle routes.

The path is a joint project between East Renfrewshire and Renfrewshire councils, Strathclyde Partnership for Transport (SPT) and Sustrans.

“I hope to see lots of people trying it out, particularly as we head into the summer holidays.”

Cameron Craig, P7 at Cross Arthurlie Primary, added: “I do a lot of cycling with my family, so it’s really great to have somewhere to cycle closer to home.”
