Santa arrives at Dobbies Garden Centre

SANTA Claus’s arrival at Dobbies Garden Centre in Crossford on Sunday featured a spectacular musical parade led by Williamwood Pipe Band which culminated in the great man’s Christmas Grotto being opened.

Around 500 people attended an event which also featured appearances by colourful characters Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Fifi from the Flowertots and Iggle Piggle.

Santa arrived in a Beauford limousine along with three-year-old leukemia sufferer Kye Weir and his family.

“Kye loved his day,” organiser Carol Inglis said. “He cut the ribbon to open Santa’s Winter Wonderland.”

The day also featured a stilt walking Snow Queen, birds of prey and fairground rides.
