Scaredy cat found hiding at fire station

The Scottish SPCA is seeking the owner of a kitten found hiding in bushes next to a fire station in Kilsyth.

The charity was alerted when a fireman heard noises coming from bushes at Kilsyth Community Fire Station and discovered the young kitten hiding inside.

The kitten, who has been named Mia, is now in the care of the animal rescue and rehoming centre in Hamilton.

Animal Rescue Officer Sarah Parker said, “Mia was discovered after a fireman heard miaows coming from the bushes. With the help of his wife, they set about trying to catch the kitten which took a bit of time as she was jumping around the bushes.

“She was terrified but very friendly. She is a lucky kitten as she was in a very dangerous place given her age.

“Mia is around six to seven weeks old which is too young for her to be outside on her own. We think she belongs to someone as she is in good condition and may have escaped from home.

“We will find Mia a suitable new home if no one comes forward for her.”

Anyone who recognises Mia is being asked to contact the SSPCA Hamilton centre on 03000 999 999.
