School football team wins first-ever Pat Campbell Trophy competition

THESE are the rising stars of the St Andrew’s Primary football team who won the inaugural Pat Campbell Trophy at the end of last month.

The title is named after a former Holy Cross Primary janitor who is fondly remembered by many for coaching the school football team during his time there. It will be played for on an annual basis between by sides from the two schools.

Pat sadly passed away in 1995 but his daughter Trisha (second left) and son Hugh (back) were on hand at St Andrew’s Eastfield Road campus to present the silverware.

Next year, the tie will be played on the brand new 3G pitch which is currently under construction in Croy.
