Scotland's Festival of History 2010

FROM Roman legions to marauding Vikings Scotland's Festival of History boasted plenty of action for history buffs of all ages to enjoy.

Hundreds flocked to the two day event at Lanark Raacecourse to see specialists from across Europe showing off their skills.

Now in its eighth year, more than 40 activities were planned for the festival, cramming in 2000 years of history.

Battles, cannons, mediaeval musicians, jesters and historic craft demonstrations all formed a part of the history celebration.
