Screening campaign launched

Women throughout East Dunbartonshire, North Glasgow and beyond have been urged to take part in a cancer screening programme.

A new cervical screening campaign has been launched by NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde.

The ‘smear’ campaign is aimed at women aged between 20 and 35 years of age and incorporates humour with a serious health message - to tackle the main barriers stopping women from attending cervical screening (smear test).

It’s being backed by top female DJs - Radio Clyde’s Suzie McGuire and Knoxy.

Every year in the UK, 5,000 women are diagnosed with cervical cancer.
