Sean goes on the run for charities

A CUMBERNAULD man has raised a staggering £100,000 for charity in only four years by taking part in sponsored runs.

Sean Casey (44), from Blackwood, and his wife were met with tragedy four years ago when their daughter was still-born.

From that day on Sean vowed to raise as much money as he could for charity SANDS, which helps families who experience the trauma of still-birth or neonatal death.

Earlier this year we told how Sean and his family and friends were running from George Square to Trafalgar Square to raise cash for charity and now, having recently run the New York Marathon and the Edinburgh Marathon, Sean’s fundraising total is pushing the £100,000 mark.

“The New York Marathon was unbelievable,” said Sean, who works as a regional manager for Bon Marche.

“It was one of the best experiences of my life.”
