Serious incident crash closes George Square
A bin lorry has crashed into Christmas shoppers in George Square, with reports of multiple casualties.
The city centre space was closed shortly after 2.30pm today after the incident.
Eyewitnesses have reported that a bin lorry was involved in a collision with another vehicle, hitting a number of pedestrians.
A spokeswoman for Police Scotland confirmed that officers are dealing with a “serious incident” near Queen Street Station.
