Police are appealing for witnesses after a serious road crash near Crawford on Sunday.

Around 8.45pm, a 69 year old man was riding his motorbike on the M74 southbound near Crawford when it appeared to lose control. The man came off his bike and was seriously injured.

Emergency services attended and the man was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where staff describe his condition as critical.

Sergeant John Tait said: “Anyone with information about this incident is urged to contact officers at Motherwell Road Policing Unit via the 101 number.”
