Lenzie Tennis Club’s Allwyn Crawford recently joined Judy Murray, mum of Wimbledon-winner Andy, at a ‘Miss-Hits’ course - an exciting new fun, friendly tennis programme for girls aged 5-8 which will be arriving at the club in August.

It’s the latest new initiative from the club, which will be running summer tennis camps throughout the summer from today (July 1).

Camps include girls-only sessions every Tuesday, with tots and all age groups on Thursdays and Fridays. Meanwhile adult social tennis will run each Saturday in July, with non-members welcome.

As part of the LTA Great British Tennis Weekend, the club recently held a successful ‘Tennis for Free’ event which saw many juniors and adults taking to the courts.

The next Tennis for Free event will run on August 1, from 10am-1pm, and everyone from the local community is welcome.

The club has also been establishing links with local schools and over 200 primary school children have attended the club for a recent taster session supported by Tennis Scotland.
