The woman was alone at the time of the incident and was left badly shaken. She made her way to relatives, and police were called.

The police said today, Monday, that “significant” enquiries were taking place to trace the suspect, who is described as white European, approximately 24 - 27 years old, with fair hair and a pale complexion. At the time he was wearing a navy blue hooded top, with red or brown writing on it, and pale grey jogging trousers.

Pc James Higgins, of Police Scotland stated: “The area is popular with locals. However, at this time the victim was alone and unable to summon help.

“People quite rightly should have every right to feel safe when relaxing outside.
