Shieldhill Hotel win big at Scottish Hotel Awards

The Shieldhill team, led by manager and owner Mary Yuill, picked up the award for Scottish Romantic Hotel of the Year at the Scottish Hotel Awards in Glasgow’s Crowne Plaza.

And it was a double delight for Mary who also bagged the gong for Independent Hotelier of the Year for the Glasgow and Clyde area.

“We had an absolutely fantastic evening and winning the awards just topped the night off,” said Mary.

“In terms of the Romantic Hotel of the Year, the judges had carried out visits to all the hotels nominated.

“For one visit we knew they were coming but in another instance we were not informed who they were so it was a type of “mystery shopper” to keep us on our toes!

“They stayed in the Honeymoon Suite, which is a huge room; they must have been impressed.”
