Sign o’ the times for street signage

A Cumbernauld landlady has claimed that other businesses in the area have a competitive advantage over her after a sign promoting her pub was knocked down - and never replaced.

Jeanette Marshall, of the Jack Snipe pub on Glenacre Road, says the road sign promoted her pub and a local convenience store up until last year.

It is believed a car hit the pole that held the sign last November causing it to fall.

North Lanarkshire Council have since replaced the street sign but without its traditional feature of having the pub and shop name.
