Amy Quinn, from Springburn, is set to travel to Birmingham later this month to battle it out for a place at the Open Mic UK finals at London’s O2 venue.
It marks a remarkable turnaround for Amy - she was diagnosed with cancer at the age of 19 in 2012 and, after two operations and six months of chemotherapy she is now in remission.
Open Mic UK is the biggest music competition in the UK for singers and solo artists, with previous finalists including Union J’s Jaymi Hensley and R&B/pop singer Hatty Keane.
Events coordinator Chris Grayston said: “Every year that we hold this competition the bar is raised and the quality gets higher and higher. We’re really looking forward to hearing the raw talent.”
