Site name is unveiled

THE long awaited development on the site of the old Barrwood Quarry in Kilsyth is to be named 'Burngreen Brae', we can reveal.

Work has now officially started and a temporary access bridge over the Ebroch Burn has been built to connect to Stirling Road.

Martin Egan, managing director of developer Dawn Homes, was unable to attend last week's meeting of Kilsyth Community Council.

He did, however, send an update to the secretary of the group.

The Dawn Homes boss signalled his intention to attend the next meeting of the community council, on January 19, to provide a further update on the works' progress.
