Sky watchers looking forward an astronomical spectacular were left disappointed today - as cloud obscured most of the solar eclipse in East Dunbartonshire.
While many people across Britain and Europe were treated to a view of up to 95 per cent of the sun being blocked out by the passing moon, only the tail end of the extravaganza was visible in Kirkintilloch and surrounding areas.
We managed to get a snap of the last moments of the eclipse as the sky momentarily cleared.
