After 16 days of music, cabaret, theatre, art and everything in between, the pick of the Fringe gathered to entertain last minute crowds, followed by the now traditional MyBiltong barbecue.

For co-founder Crawford Smith — who started the Fringe with burlesque compere Corinna Currie in a bid to promote the wealth of talent on this side of the city — 2015 “elevated the Southside Fringe to a new level”.

He told The Extra: “Public awareness via traditional and new media are at an all time high, and the facts and figures speak for themselves.

“As far as we can work out, there were more sold out ticketed events and max capacity free entry shows than ever before.

“Venues are happy, thousands of people were entertained and hundreds of local artists performed close to home. It really was the biggest and longest festival the southside of Glasgow has ever seen.”

Crawford added “a massive thank you” to all the venues, performers and organisers, “and of course to every one of our attendees!

“We’re the only festival in Glasgow dedicated to the people of the southside and we look forward to entertaining you all for many more years to come.”
