Southsiders urged to sign up for charity walk

The southside representative will launch the Marie Curie Walk Ten on Saturday, at 6pm, as hundreds of walkers set off from Pollok Country Park to the city centre.

Last minute registrations will be accepted right up until the event start, and participants will be treated to live music, fireworks and the chance to picnic at the finish line.

James Dornan said: “Fundraising events such as Marie Curie’s Walk Ten make an invaluable contribution to the work of the charity and allows them to provide excellent care and support for people with terminal illnesses and their families all across Scotland, including here in Glasgow.

“It’s great that so many people are due to take part on what promises to be a fantastic evening.”

Stacy Rowan, event manager for Marie Curie, added: “Walk Ten at Pollok Country Park is part of a series of 10k walks and celebrations at 19 stunning venues throughout the UK this summer. We’re really excited to have James’ support locally.”
