Spate of pickpocketing leadsto police delivering a warning

On Monday, September 5, at around 3.15pm, an elderly lady was targeted outside Tesco in Regent Street, Kirkintilloch, by a woman who claimed she had dropped a £5 note.

After distracting her, she stole a bank card from the victim’s bag.

Earlier that day, at around 12noon, a handbag was stolen from a woman shopping in the Deafbling shop in Kirkintilloch’s Townhead.

Meanwhile, on Sunday, September 4, at around 5pm, a purse was taken from a woman’s bag outsideAsda in Bishopbriggs.
