Special advice session on winter warmth

Local residents are being encouraged to attend a winter advice surgery hosted by Lennoxtown's elected representatives.

The session – which doubles as a coffee morning – will take place from 10.30am to 12 noon on Saturday (October 29) in Campsie Memorial Hall.

Rona Mackay MSP (Strathkelvin and Bearsden), Stuart McDonald MP (Cumbernauld, Kilsyth and Kirkintilloch East) and Councillor David Ritchie (Campsie and Kirkintilloch North) will be on hand to meet with constituents about any issues they may have.

It will be a chance to get advice on payments and services that may be useful over the winter period.

Stalls and information from Home Energy Scotland, Citizens Advice Bureau, Kirkintilloch Men’s Shed and Ceartas Advocacy will be on hand to meet with the public.

Rona Mackay, the MSP for Strathkelvin and Bearsden, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for constituents to come along and get advice from elected members and vital charities and organisations.

“I’m looking forward to meeting and having a chat with constituents who join us for a tea and coffee — everyone is welcome to the event.”

Stuart McDonald MP for Cumbernauld, Kilsyth & Kirkintilloch East commented: “With the winter weather almost upon us, Rona and I are keen to ensure that local residents get all the help they are entitled to, particularly assistance with paying fuel bills.

“The advice provided will be free and impartial, so it is well worth popping along.”
