Special report on storm’s aftermath
RESIDENTS and businesses in the Cumbernauld and Kilsyth area were severely hit by last week’s storms, which left a trail of havoc.
The area was lashed by gales that at times reached more than 100 mph.
Some people - such as villagers in Banton – were left without power for more than 48 hours as workmen battled to reconnect the supply in the teeth of further bad weather.
