Sponsored spin at Carluke Leisure Centre raises thousands for charity

A sponsored marathon spin to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support will be held at Carluke Leisure Centre this Saturday October 29.

Between 150 and 200 people aged from 13 to pensioners will cycle for a minimum of one hour on bikes with varying pedal resistance levels. Kenny Martin, cycled for eight hours in last year’s marathon spin, which raised a whopping £12,700.

He said: “There are 30-odd bikes and teams with a minimum of five people who will be spinning or cycling to music under the direction of a tutor.

“It’s an event which can exercise every muscle in your body.
