P5 pupils attended The Biggest Bookshow on Earth, hosted by TV’s Dick and Dom.

The school then held its own book day, and staff and pupils came dressed as their favourite literary character — storywriting prizewinners included Dylan Anderston, Daisie Bowers, Paul Higgins, Lucy Taylor, Ali Alani, Amina Zubair and Sinea O’Hara.

The bookish fun was rounded off by a visit from writer James Carter, who entertained primaries 4a, 6b, 6c and 7b by making up a poem on the spot (with a little help from his audience).
