St Joseph’s pupil bags radio gig tickets

ST JOSEPH’S primary welcomed two special guests today (Tuesday) after a lucky mum came top in a breakfast radio competition.

The Busby school was visited by Capital Scotland DJs Des Clarke and Jennie Cook, bringing with them tickets to an upcoming Robbie Williams gig at Hampden for pupil Ellie Mclean.

Ellie’s mum, Angela, had gone head-to-head with another listening for the tickets after correctly guessing the number of Brit Awards the singer has won to date.

But it was a big end-of-term surprise for Ellie and fellow St Joseph’s pupils, who mobbed Des and Jennie when they arrived at the school.

Winner Angela commented: “It was amazing to win the tickets on the show, and was made even more special by Des and Jennie personally visiting St Joseph’s to hand them to myself and Ellie - which made all her school friends very envious!”

DJ Jennie added: “It was great to see all the kids at St Joseph’s - what a reception they gave us. Angela and Ellie were great and we hope they have a brilliant time at the Robbie gig.”
