Stand up to neds in Clydesdale

IT'S time for the people of Clydesdale to stand up to the neds.

And, for the next month, the police are taking special steps to ensure that any member of the public complaining about anti-social behaviour will get prompt action from officers.

It is all part of a four week crackdown to encourage Clydesdale's

law-abiding citizens not to just let drunken, rowdy or even violent

behaviour go unreported.

Launching the campaign, a police spokeswoman said: "The aim of the event is to appeal to the public to help make their community a better place by standing up and contacting us if they are experiencing antisocial behaviour.''

And Inspector Scott Jones, Community Inspector for Clydesdale said: "The people who conduct themselves in this manner have no respect for their neighbours or people who live near to them.

"Along with our partners in the community we are keen to deal with this type of behaviour and have a positive and lasting impact.''
