Still Game stars visit sorting office

Still Game stars Sanjeev Kohli and Jane McCarry popped in to the Royal Mail sorting office in Springburn to urge customers to post early for Christmas.

Actor Sanjeev, who plays subpostmaster Navid Harrid, and Jane, who is wiry pensioner Isa Drennan in the hit BBC Scotland show, met the 1,400 staff, including 700 seasonal workers, gearing up for the busiest week of the year.

And they encouraged customers to help their posties as much as possible by sending their cards by the recommended posting dates.

Sanjeev said: “Royal Mail has a phenomenal operation in Glasgow at this time of year, sorting and delivering parcels and cards. Everyone can help by posting early.”

Jane McCarry added: “My own postie is first class. We can support our local postmen and women who are out delivering in all weathers by also using the postcode.”

Royal Mail will also be delivering parcels on the Sunday before Christmas.

Last post for first class mail is Friday, December 20 and second class, on Wednesday December 18, to ensure delivery in time for Christmas

Important items can be posting using special delivery up until December 23.
